A family-owned agency in Chardon
MC Insurance Group is run by Michael and Sarah Began, a husband and wife team with close to 30 combined years in the insurance industry. When you call, you get one of us.
We're Geauga County locals raising our two boys in Chardon. We shop your coverage with multiple carriers at no cost to you, and we never pressure anyone into a policy.
Meet the Began familyOhio's minimum, and why we rarely recommend it
That keeps you legal. It does not go far. A new pickup costs well over $25,000, and one ambulance ride and a hospital stay can pass the injury limit quickly. When the damage is more than your limit, the difference can come after you personally. Raising liability limits is usually one of the cheaper changes on a policy, so we always quote it both ways and let you see the gap.
The coverages, in plain English
Liability. Pays for injuries and damage you cause to other people.
Uninsured and underinsured motorist. Pays for your injuries when the other driver has no insurance or not enough.
Collision. Repairs your car after a crash, whoever was at fault.
Comprehensive. Theft, hail, fire, a tree limb, glass, and animals.
Medical payments. Medical bills for you and your passengers.
Rental and roadside. A rental while your car is in the shop, and a tow when you need one.
Driving in Geauga County
Deer
Hitting a deer is a comprehensive claim. Swerving to miss one and hitting a tree is a collision claim. They have separate deductibles, which is why we ask what you want each one set at and do not just copy your old policy.
Lake-effect snow
We get a lot of it, and winter claims here are mostly slide-offs and low-speed hits. Collision coverage and a deductible you could actually pay in January matter more than people expect.
Sharing the road with buggies
Much of the county shares its roads with Amish buggies. A collision with one can mean serious injuries to people who had no protection around them. This is a real reason to carry liability limits above the minimum out here.
Gravel and windshields
If you drive gravel roads every day, ask us about it.
What affects the price
Your driving record, the vehicles, how much you drive, who is on the policy, and the deductibles you choose. Adding a teen driver changes things a lot, and companies handle it very differently, which is a good moment to shop. Putting auto and home together often lowers both.
